Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an elementary school teacher to deliver instruction under moderate supervision, develop lesson plans, and supervise students in a classroom setting. This role requires adherence to state and district standards and the North Carolina testing program.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree and valid NC teaching certification or eligibility, with experience planning and assessing student progress within a 10-month term.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Assist school administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Prepare for classes assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Diagnose learning challenges of students and maintain records for IEPs and 504 Plans.
• Provide an instructional program to meet needs of all students including those with disabilities and limited English proficiency.
