Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina seeks an elementary school teacher to deliver instruction under supervision, develop lesson plans, and supervise and evaluate students in alignment with Board policies and district goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and valid NC teaching certification or eligibility, with a 10-month, certified schedule. The teacher will collaborate with principals and staff to fulfill curriculum standards and support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to NC Professional Teaching Standards.
• Assist administration in implementing policies and rules; maintain classroom order.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Prepare for classes and show evidence of preparation upon request.
• Diagnose learning challenges and maintain records for IEPs/504 plans.
• Provide instruction for all students including those with disabilities and limited English proficiency.
• Prepare materials and classroom activities; support exploration and imaginative play.
• Conduct tests and assessments to monitor progress; assign and grade work.
• Support PLCs and professional development; participate in meetings.
