Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools' Northport Elementary invites applications for a Tutor Education Assistant to support K-5 students in reading and math. This role covers collaborative work with teachers, small-group instruction, and supervision during various school activities.

The position is seven hours per day, with pay at $24.75 per hour under the current Education Assistants' collective bargaining agreement. Successful candidates will have at least two years of college credits and a passion for

Qualifications

• At least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits in MN), an associate's or higher degree, or a passing score on the ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment.
• Experience working with students in the areas of math and reading.
• Knowledge of strategies to comprehensibly explain content to students.
• Ability to work as part of a team to complete intervention plans for students.
• Able to work well with students, staff and families.
• Excellent observational skills.
• Flexible personality that allows for unexpected changes in schedules.
• Able to attend work regularly and report to work in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support in reading and mathematics.
• Assist students in classrooms with skill acquisition and completion of assignments.
• Work with individuals and/or small groups of students in subject areas.
• Coordinate work for students with the teachers.
• Supervise students, which may include outdoors, halls, cafeteria and busing.
• Other duties as assigned.
