Job summary

Northport Elementary School in Brooklyn Center, MN is seeking a Tutor Education Assistant to provide academic support for grades K-5. This seven-hour day position (6.5 paid, 30 minutes unpaid lunch) pays $24.75 per hour under the current Education Assistants agreement.

Responsibilities include reading and mathematics support, small group instruction, coordination with teachers, supervision, and assisting with intervention plans alongside staff and families.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credits or higher degree, or ParaPro/Paraeducator passing score.
• Experience with students in math and reading.
• Ability to explain content clearly to students.
• Ability to work in a team on intervention plans.
• Strong communication with students, staff and families.
• Excellent observational skills.
• Flexible and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support in reading and mathematics.
• Assist students in classrooms with skill acquisition and assignments.
• Work with individuals or small groups in subject areas.
• Coordinate work for students with the teachers.
• Supervise students in outdoors, halls, cafeteria and bus.
• Other duties as assigned.
