Job summary

Ann Arbor Public Schools is seeking Elementary Reading Assistants to provide small group and individualized reading instruction across multiple grade levels. This hourly position supports literacy with district resources and collaboration with building staff.

Responsibilities include monitoring progress, communicating with the literacy coach and teachers, and maintaining attendance. A Bachelor's degree is required; MI teaching certificate preferred; LETRS training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Michigan elementary teaching certificate preferred.
• Experience working with striving readers.
• Completion of LETRS encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support reading using district approved instructional resources.
• Provide individualized and small group instruction.
• Communicate with building literacy coach, teachers, and principal.
• Collaborate with Building Support Team.
• Evaluate academic and social growth; keep anecdotal records and prepare progress reports.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
