Job summary

Simply Ed LLC in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an Elementary Math & ELA Teacher’s Assistant for the P.S. 31 Samuel F. Dupont site. This part-time, non-exempt role supports teachers by providing push-in instruction across Grades K–5 during Math and ELA sessions.

The role requires strong English proficiency, a bachelor’s in Education/Math/ELA or related field, and willingness to complete NYC DOE PETS background checks. Competitive pay is $26/hour with training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, English, or related field.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Background check clearance (PETS) or eligibility.
• Experience working with children; school experience preferred; training provided.
• Ability to support Math and ELA across Grades K–5.

Responsibilities

• Provide push-in classroom support during Math and ELA instruction across Grades K–5.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide targeted academic support.
• Offer one-on-one and small-group support within the classroom.
• Reinforce foundational ELA skills including phonics, reading fluency, and comprehension.
• Reinforce foundational Math skills including number sense, operations, and fractions.
• Adjust instructional support for different grade levels and learning styles.
• Help students work through challenging assignments and concepts.
• Support students applying Math and ELA skills to classwork and assessments.
• Help manage classroom routines and maintain a focused learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and share observations with teachers.
• Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.
