Job summary

Salem School District is seeking a dynamic Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our K-5 elementary team at Lancaster Elementary School. This role focuses on identifying, assessing, and treating students with communication disorders, aligned with IEP goals and objectives.

You will collaborate with General Education and Special Education staff, implement AAC strategies, participate in MTSS, and contribute to professional growth within a robust district SLP cohort.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as Speech-Language Pathologist in the applicable state.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality individual and small-group therapy aligned with IEP goals.
• Conduct initial and triennial speech-language evaluations with standardized tests and informal observations.
• Support AAC device selection, programming, and integration for students with complex communication needs.
• Collaborate with General Education, Special Education, and Related Services staff to generalize communication strategies across environments.
• Participate in MTSS with pre-referral consultation and short-term interventions for students with communication needs.
• Engage with the district SLP cohort to standardize practices and support professional development.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation including session notes and progress reports.
