Qualifications

• Valid NH License in Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services to students in K-5 aligned with IEP goals.
• Conduct initial and triennial speech-language evaluations.
• Support AAC devices selection, programming, and implementation.

• Participate in MTSS with pre-referral consultations and short-term interventions.

Job Summary

Salem School District is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our K-5 elementary team. This position is responsible for identifying, assessing, and treating students with communication disorders, including impairments in language, speech sound production, fluency, and voice.

Distinguishing Feature: You will join a robust, high-functioning team of district SLPs, providing ample opportunities for professional growth, peer consultation, and shared resources.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Direct Clinical Services: Provide high-quality individual and small-group therapy to students with diverse needs, ensuring services align with IEP goals and objectives.
• Comprehensive Evaluations: Conduct initial and triennial speech and language evaluations, including standardized testing and informal observations, to determine eligibility and instructional needs.
• AAC Implementation: Support students with complex communication needs through the selection, programming, and implementation of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
• Multidisciplinary Consultation: Collaborate consistently with General Education teachers, Special Education teachers, and Related Services providers to ensure communication strategies are generalized across all school environments.
• Intervention Support: Participate in the MTSS process by providing pre-referral consultation and short-term interventions for students struggling with foundational communication.
• Team Collaboration: Actively engage with the district-wide SLP cohort to standardize practices, share clinical insights, and support peer-led professional development.
• Compliance: Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including session notes, progress reports, and Medicaid billing (if applicable).

Required Qualifications & Credentials

To practice in New Hampshire, candidates must meet the following Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC) and NHDOE requirements:

• Certification/Licensure: Must hold (or be eligible for) a valid New Hampshire License in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the OPLC.
• NHDOE Endorsement: Must hold (or be eligible for) NHDOE Endorsement #0082 (Speech-Language Specialist).
• Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
