Job summary

Granite School District in Utah is seeking a School Literacy Coach to collaborate with K-5 teachers, build instructional capacity, and raise English Language Arts achievement using district-supported literacy practices and the Science of Reading framework.

The coach will deliver sustained, job-embedded professional learning, model evidence-based instruction, and guide data-driven decisions through PLCs and MTSS collaboration. External, one-year contract with focus on student literacy outcomes.

Qualifications

• Mastery of Science of Reading research and evidence-based ELA instruction.
• Utah licensure in Elementary/Early Childhood/Special Education (K-12) or equivalent.
• LETRS training or equivalent; coaching endorsement or willingness to obtain within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide job-embedded professional learning through pre-planning, data collection, and reflective conversations.
• Lead school-wide literacy initiatives and adult learning-based professional development.
• Coordinate assessments (Acadience Reading, NWEA MAP) and analyze data to inform instruction.
• Collaborate with administration and MTSS teams to monitor IRPs and literacy supports.
