Job summary

Summit Management Consulting, LLC is seeking a Literacy Specialist/Coach to coach K-6 teachers in evidence-based literacy practices and lead literacy course development across grade bands. The role supports a standards-based learning transition and ongoing implementation within a remote/mobile schooling context.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of reading and writing processes and instruction.
• Ability to analyze literacy data to inform instruction.
• Experience designing and delivering literacy PD for K-6 staff.
• Master’s degree in literacy or reading; BR endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group coaching to K-6 teachers on literacy instruction and evidence-based strategies.
• Design and deliver professional development sessions on literacy best practices and dyslexia identification.
• Lead and monitor DIBELS assessments and analyze results to inform instruction.
• Support Michigan Dyslexia law compliance through screening and accommodations.
• Foster collaboration between general and special education teams and monitor progress toward standards-based goals.
