Job summary

Archway Scottsdale Classical Academy is seeking a K-5 Assistant Teacher to join our on-site team. You will support homeroom instruction within the Great Hearts curriculum, nurture student curiosity, and partner with families to promote a joyful learning environment.

The role includes collaborating with an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher, upholding school culture and safety procedures, and engaging in ongoing professional development within a respected classical education network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role.
• Certification is not required for general education.
• US work authorization is required, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
