Legacy Prep in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a Teacher to join our instructional team. This full‑time role serves all grades from K through 7, with emphasis on standards-aligned curriculum, rigorous instruction, and data‑driven decisions to improve student outcomes.

You will collaborate with school leaders, Special Education staff, and families to foster a positive learning environment, mentor a teaching fellow, and support student growth across character and academics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year educational institution (master’s degree preferred).
• Alabama teacher certification in the appropriate content area and/or significant work experience.
• At least two years of teaching experience (required).
• Experience working in an educationally and/or economically disadvantaged community (highly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development and Instruction: adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum and assess student progress.
• Develop academically rigorous lessons, adapt unit plans, rubrics, and assessments.
• Use data to inform instructional decisions and provide feedback on mastery.
• Mentor a teaching fellow through a co‑teaching model with IEPS collaboration.
• Foster a positive classroom culture and engage families in student learning.
• Collaborate with teammates and participate in staff meetings.
