Legacy Prep in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a Teacher to join our instructional team for all grades K-7. The role emphasizes standards-aligned curriculum, data‑driven instruction, and mentoring a teaching fellow in a co‑teaching model under the Principal.

You will collaborate with Special Education staff to meet IEPS, engage families, and participate in staff meetings while delivering rigorous lessons and fostering a positive classroom culture that supports historically underserved youth.

Qualifications

• Curriculum Development and Instruction responsibilities: adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum and assess students' progress.
• Mentor a teaching fellow through a co-teaching model and support IEPS coordination with Special Education Teachers.
• Family engagement and empowerment: establish strong communication with parents and participate in family events.
• Commit to ongoing professional development and growth through instructional coaching and school-wide PD.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum and assess students’ progress.
• Develop academically rigorous lessons, adapt unit plans, rubrics, and assessments.
• Use data to inform instructional decisions.
• Provide students with daily feedback on mastery performance in character and academics and plan for individual learning needs.
• Mentor a teaching fellow through a co‑teaching model.
• Work with Special Education Teachers to meet IEPS and student needs.
