Job summary

Alpha is seeking a Youth Development Coach to drive literacy progress for K–3 students on-site. You will spend most of the day guiding children through app-based learning, diagnose decoding gaps, and tailor short, targeted sequences for individual learners.

You will lead morning launches and small-group sessions, monitor weekly goals on classroom dashboards, and remain with students through lunch and closing to ensure steady progress. Relocation support is available for campus placement.

Qualifications

• Willing to work on-site at a campus listed above, with relocation support.
• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in settings like teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar.
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Structured-literacy training or a master's in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor’s degree; teaching certificate not required.
• Comfortable guiding students through app-based learning most of the day.

Responsibilities

• Coach students through app-based core learning; identify gaps and unblock progress.
• Lead short structured-literacy sessions with two to four students; diagnose gaps and implement sequences.
• Run morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities for six-year-olds.
• Drive students toward weekly app goals using currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, and closing; plan for challenging moments.
