Job summary

KIPP Atlanta Schools in Atlanta, GA is seeking a School-based Literacy Coach to support Georgia's literacy legislation and drive grade-level reading across assigned campuses. You will partner with principals, academic coaches, and teachers to identify needs, schedule supports, and provide technical assistance that strengthens literacy instruction.

Qualifications

• Valid Georgia teaching or service certificate at level 4 or higher.
• Minimum of five years of classroom teaching or literacy intervention experience.
• Knowledge of scientifically based reading research.
• Special expertise in quality reading instruction and intervention.
• Knowledge of dyslexia-specific interventions.
• Knowledge of data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Coach educators using non-evaluative, evidence-based practices, including modeling instruction and data analysis.
• Spend at least 70% of the school day in classrooms working directly with students and teachers.
• Prioritize activities and roles that maximize literacy achievement through coaching and mentoring.
• Demonstrate competency through practice-based assessment applying the science of reading.
