Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a K-3 teacher assistant to support instruction under a teacher or principal. You will work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce concepts and help them take full advantage of available curriculum and technology.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate's Degree or 48 credit hours or pass Workkeys assessment.
• Ability to pass formal assessment or participate in state apprenticeship or development plan.
• Desirable experience with elementary students and education-focused coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and on field trips.
• Enforce school policies and coordinate instructional efforts with teachers.
• Observe performance and record progress data to assess learning.
• Perform clerical tasks to support teachers.
