Job summary

River Oaks Academy in Charlotte, NC seeks a K-3 teacher assistant to support instructional activities under a teacher or principal. You will reinforce lessons, monitor student progress, supervise students in classrooms and during activities, and handle clerical tasks to aid teachers.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate Degree (Education preferred) or equivalent, with 2+ years of experience with elementary children; compliance with school policies is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education required
• Associate's Degree with concentration in Education preferred
• 2+ years of experience working with elementary age children preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Supervises students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and on field trips.
• Enforces administration policies and rules governing students.
• Discusses duties with teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Instructs and monitors students in use of equipment and materials.
• Observes students' performance and records data to assess progress.
