Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an Assistant, Teacher K-3/ Exchange/ EOY to support classroom instruction and student learning. Under supervision, you assist teachers, supervise students in multiple settings, and help maintain a productive learning environment with available curriculum and technology materials.

You will work with small groups or individuals, reinforce lessons, monitor progress, and perform clerical tasks to support teachers.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s Degree or 48 college credits or equivalent.
• Work Keys credential and related in-service hours may meet the requirement.
• NC DOL Apprenticeship Program or NC ATA Development plan acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assists children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervises students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, yards, and on field trips.
• Enforces school policies and coordinates with teachers on duties.
• Instructs and monitors use of equipment to prevent injuries.
• Observes and records student progress data for assessment.
