Job summary

Alpha reimagines the school day by delivering structured-literacy instruction to K-2 students through small-group workshops and engaging activities. You will lead 20-minute workshops, using data-informed decisions to tailor lessons and motivate students with an adaptive-app framework.

Your role emphasizes in-person classroom presence, building credibility in early instruction, and measuring progress via running records and decoding progress while contributing to Alpha's evolving K-2 reading

Qualifications

Structured-literacy certification or a Master’s in reading instruction is required.
Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of full-time K-2 reading instruction in past 5 years is required.
Ability to develop own reading lessons from student data without reliance on a published program.
Proven ability to assess reading progress and articulate gains in fluency, decoding, and phonics.

Responsibilities

Create and facilitate small-group K-2 reading workshops rooted in structured-literacy approaches.
Lead daily motivation sessions to hit weekly adaptive-app targets.
Administer and evaluate running records, fluency probes, and decoding assessments.
Analyze AI-generated data to differentiate instruction and inform planning.
Be the engaging, approachable adult for K-2 students each day.
