Qualifications

• Experience – At least 2 years of urbanteaching experience with a record of student achievement.
• Education –Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strategic Thinking & Vision –Sees and communicates the big picture in an inspiring way to students and colleagues. Determines opportunities and threats through comprehensive analysis of current student performance trends.
• Organization & Planning –Plans, organizes, and schedules, in an efficient, productive manner. Focuses on key priorities.
• Analytical Skills –Structures and processes qualitative or quantitative student performance data and draws insightful conclusions from it.
• Attention to Detail –Ensures that important details do not slip through the cracks or derail a project.
• Creativity/Innovation –Generates new and innovative approaches to problems, including instructional design and delivery.
• Teamwork –Reaches out to peers and cooperates with supervisors to establish an overall collaborative working relationship.
• Flexibility – Demonstrates the ability to adjust in the moment and the willingness to support with additional responsibilities, if needed.
• Persistence – Demonstrates tenacity and willingness to go the distance to get something done.

Responsibilities

• Use goals to drive instruction and set clear, ambitious short- and long-term targets with your team.
• Create a culture of learning with a student-led, positive, safe classroom and school-wide environment.
• Be a content expert by planning Louisiana Standards-aligned lessons and executing them to meet all students’ needs.
• Differentiate instruction with accommodations and modifications for diverse learners.
• Use qualitative and quantitative data daily to inform instructional decisions.
• Accept feedback and engage in instructional coaching to improve student outcomes.
• Communicate and collaborate regularly with parents and staff to support student progress.
• Be flexible and innovative, adjusting strategies to meet student needs in a turnaround context.
• Persevere through an extended school day, week, and year to ensure student success.
• Remain a constant learner through ongoing professional development and solutions-oriented work.
