Job summary

Indiana University Indianapolis is seeking dedicated tutor/mentors for the 2026-2027 academic year. This off-campus role provides individualized and small group support to students in grades 2-8, focusing on English Language Arts and Math.

Mentors build relationships to support social-emotional development and school engagement, and travel between Pike and Lawrence Township schools and campus. Background in K-12 education is preferred.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associates degree or currently enrolled in college.
• 3 years of full-time work experience and experience with youth.
• Ability to work off-campus in Pike and Lawrence Townships and travel between schools and campus.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small group academic support to students in grades 2-8, focusing on English Language Arts and Math.
• Build mentoring relationships to support social-emotional development, motivation, and school engagement.
• Follow school curriculum and state standards; document sessions and progress in program database.
• Collaborate with teachers and program staff; attend PD sessions and meetings.
