Job summary

Southern Indiana, Inc. is seeking a part-time Instructional Interventionist (tutor) to support student achievement at The Excel Center in southwest Indianapolis.

The role meets students where they are, tailoring individual or small group instruction for those who are struggling academically, and reporting progress to the leadership team.

Under supervision, you may cover classes and the childcare center when needed, and participate in professional development to align with Indiana standards.

Qualifications

• No degree or credential required; prior tutoring experience valued.
• Ability to tailor instruction for high school–level students.
• Commitment to student-centered learning and data-informed practice.
• Willingness to cover classes or childcare when needed.
• Pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teachers and families to identify effective instructional strategies.
• Deliver tailored instruction to meet student needs in small groups or one‑on‑one.
• Monitor and communicate student progress to leadership.
• Provide diagnostic assessments as needed.
• Assist with attendance tracking and program goals.
