Job summary

Francis W. Parker School in Chicago seeks substitute teachers to provide in-person instruction across JK-12. Substitutes must adapt to multiple grade levels and work with teachers, staff and parents. Typical hours are 8:00am–3:30pm, with occasional earlier arrival needed.

Compensation is $70 per half day and $140 per full day, with no benefits. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree and have experience with children, plus strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans left by regular classroom teacher.
• Effectively communicate and co-teach with grade-level assistant teachers and cross-divisional staff members.
• Apply appropriate instructional methods for meeting lesson objectives.
• Recess, lunch, and dismissal duties are as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
