Job summary

Point Quest, Inc. is seeking an Educational Sign Language Interpreter to bridge communication for deaf and hard of hearing students in K-12 settings in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

You will interpret instruction and discussions between ASL/Signing Exact English and spoken English, supporting full participation across the school day. The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers and families to ensure accessible content, adhere to IEPs, and advocate for student learning and independence.

Qualifications

• Must have an active Wisconsin DPI Educational Interpreter License or eligibility.
• Must have completed an accredited Interpreter Training Program.
• Associates degree in Child Development or related field.
• Passage of DPI EIPA and background check.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Preferred RID certification (NIC, CI/CT) and Wisconsin BEI credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, real-time interpretation for classroom instruction and school events.
• Adapt interpretation to match each student’s language needs and IEP accommodations.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure accessible instructional content.
• Facilitate communication without altering content or intent of messages.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards of practice.
• Participate in IEP meetings and share insights on communication access and student progress.
• Prepare materials to support effective interpretation in advance of instruction.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families to foster an inclusive school environment.
