Job summary

Brooke East Boston is seeking a School Adjustment Counselor or School Social Worker to provide direct support to students and deliver social-emotional services, building strong behavioral plans.

You will collaborate with staff and families, conduct IEP-related activities, crisis intervention, risk assessments, and connect families with community resources; experience with classroom observation is valued.

Qualifications

• Must hold MA DESE School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor license (LICSW/LCSW/LSW or LMHC).
• Extensive knowledge of child development and age-appropriate social and emotional skills.
• Belief that great teaching closes the achievement gap and commitment to all students' potential.
• Professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to fostering diversity by cultivating anti-racist practices and removing bias.
• Ability to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals and small groups in social skills and self-regulation.
• Collaborate with colleagues to implement positive behavioral plans and crisis intervention.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and refer to outside resources.
• Write and implement IEP goals and conduct functional behavioral assessments and observations.
