Job summary

The role reports to the Principal in partnership with the Director of Student Support Services and supports students through curriculum and transition across grade levels.

Requirements include a Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling and an Initial License as a School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor issued by the Massachusetts

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or counseling.
• Initial SCHOOL Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor license from MA DOE.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of development and learning processes.
• Crisis management experience and intervention skills.
• Familiarity with mental health needs and student supports.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Principal in collaboration with the Director of Student Support Services.
• Implement student development curriculum across elementary to high school levels.
• Guide students through transitions and support academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Counsel individuals and groups and refer to specialists when needed.
• Consult with teachers, parents and staff regarding student needs.
• Participate in and facilitate the counseling program planning and evaluation.
• Pursue continuous professional growth and best practices.
