Job summary

Brooke East Boston is seeking a School Adjustment Counselor or School Social Worker to provide direct support to students and deliver social-emotional services, building strong behavioral plans.

You will collaborate with staff and families, conduct IEP-related activities, crisis intervention, risk assessments, and connect families with community resources; experience with classroom observation is valued.

Qualifications

What is the School Adjustment Counselor/School Social Worker Role?

As a School Adjustment Counselor or School Social Worker at Brooke East Boston, you provide direct support to individual and small groups of students in the areas of social skills, self-regulation, self-advocacy, etc and create and implement positive behavioral plans. You also collaborate with colleagues to ensure students receive the support they need and provide crisis intervention for students which may include risk assessments, safety contracts, and social service interventions. Additionally, you meet with parents to discuss student progress and help refer parents to outside resources as needed, and you write and implement IEP goals and conduct functional behavioral assessments and classroom behavioral observations.

Salaries are competitive with local districts, ranging from $72,000-$129,000. Commensurate with experience.

Licensed school adjustment counselors/ school social workers will also earn an additional $3,300 stipend for working in a high-need area.
