Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, ServSafe certification, and 2 years of OCPS food service experience (or 5 years in a similar setting). Strong leadership, communication, and recordkeeping skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of OCPS school food service experience or 5 years in a similar setting.
• Completion of OCPS Manager Internship or evaluation as substitute manager.
• ServSafe certification is required.
• Essential personnel during emergencies and IPCS screening for new hires.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily school food service operations and compliance with regulations.
• Supervise and evaluate school food service assistants and staff.
• Maintain accurate production records and federal/state reports.
• Ensure district menus meet nutritional standards and USDA guidelines.
• Procure food and supplies; manage budgets and expenditures.
• Maintain effective communication with staff, parents, and officials.
• Lead in absence of the regular manager and report daily operations to FNS.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring school food service staff.
