Job summary

Whitsons is seeking a Food Service General Manager to lead a school nutrition program across multiple sites. You will oversee production at two central kitchens, coordinate with satellite elementary sites, manage budgets, and ensure food safety and compliance with NSLP/SBP guidelines.

You’ll recruit and develop teams, drive operational excellence, and partner with school staff to support student health and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or
• Bachelor’s degree in any field plus a state‑recognised school nutrition director certificate or
• Bachelor’s degree in any field plus at least 2 years of relevant school nutrition program experience or
• Associate’s degree in a related field plus at least 2 years of relevant school nutrition program experience

Responsibilities

• Inspire and lead the food service team to deliver nutritious meals to students and staff.
• Oversee daily operations: scheduling, inventory, compliance, and food safety.
• Partner with school staff to support student health and wellbeing.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal child nutrition guidelines (NSLP, SBP).
• Manage budgets, staffing, vendor relationships, and performance goals.
• Foster a positive, student-centered, and inclusive kitchen culture.
• Oversee multi-site operations with central kitchens distributing to 11 elementary sites; satellite service experience required.
