Job summary

Whitsons Culinary Group seeks a Food Service General Manager to lead a school nutrition program, delivering nutritious meals and efficient operations in a mission-driven environment.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and knowledge of USDA guidelines. This on-site position emphasizes team building, accountability, and partnerships with school staff to support student health and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5–7 years progressive experience in restaurant or food service operations.
• 3–5 years general management with full P&L responsibility.
• 1 year of experience in K‑12 programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and lead the food service team to deliver nutritious meals to students and staff.
• Oversee scheduling, inventory, compliance, and food safety.
• Partner with school staff to support student health and learning.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal child nutrition guidelines (NSLP, SBP).
• Manage budgets, staffing, vendor relationships, and performance goals.
• Foster a positive, student-centered kitchen culture.
