Job summary

Taher, Inc. is seeking a Food Service Director to lead a K-12 school lunch program in Nashville, TN. You’ll oversee client and community relations, budgets, and P&L, while directing daily kitchen operations to deliver high-quality, compliant meals.

As the face of the program, you’ll partner with district leaders, staff, and families, building trust and ensuring service excellence and financial targets are met. A strong leadership background is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of food service leadership experience.
• Associate degree in hospitality, dietetics or related field.
• ServSafe Manager certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• P&L experience with responsibility for financial targets.
• Strong relationship-building with district staff and families.
• Proficient computer skills for ordering, inventory and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily hands-on management and training of kitchen staff.
• Develop menus meeting USDA Child Nutrition guidelines.
• Ensure HACCP and all food safety standards are followed.
• Manage ordering, inventory, vendor relationships and cash control.
• Deliver budgeted food and labor results and manage P&L.
• Provide catering and special event service for the district.
• Build relationships with district leaders, staff, students and families.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and day-to-day standards.
