Job summary

Taher, Inc. is hiring an energetic Food Service Director to lead a K-12 school lunch program.

You will oversee client and community relationships, budgets, and P&L performance while guiding daily kitchen operations to ensure high-quality, compliant meals for students and staff. You will collaborate with district leaders and school staff to deliver on service and financial expectations, develop menus, and maintain food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Current ServSafe Manager certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Proven ability to manage food cost and meet P&L targets.
• Experience leading kitchen staff and ensuring USDA guideline compliance.
• Ability to pass school background checks for districts.
• Strong relationship-building with district staff, students, and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily, hands-on management and training of the kitchen staff.
• Develop menus that meet school nutrition guidelines and community needs.
• Implement and maintain HACCP and all food safety standards.
• Manage ordering, inventory, vendor relationships, and cash control.
• Deliver budgeted food and labor results and manage P&L performance.
• Provide outstanding catering and special event service for the district.
• Build and grow relationships with district leaders, staff, students, and families.
