Job summary

The Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) is hiring a School Counselor to deliver counseling services for the Bridge program and Act 89 non-public programs, helping students solve problems and promoting self-direction.

Responsibilities include individual counseling at K-8 levels on referrals, group sessions, and a focus on academic, social, and emotional development, with experience in trauma-informed practice preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required and certified as a School Counselor K-12.
• At least three years of experience in education or mental health counseling preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with youth and families.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students individually at elementary to high school levels based on referrals.
• Counsel students on academic, social, emotional, and vocational development.
• Conduct group counseling sessions as needed.
