Job summary

Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) is seeking a dedicated School Counselor to administer counseling services for the BCIU Bridge program and Act 89 non-public programs. The role focuses on helping students address personal challenges while promoting self-directed growth.

The counselor will provide individual and group counseling across elementary to high school levels, supporting academic, social, emotional, and career development, with a focus on at-risk youth and trauma-informed practices.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in School Counseling required.
• Certified as a K-12 School Counselor.
• At least three years of experience in education or mental health counseling preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with youth and adults.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students individually at elementary, middle, and high school levels.
• Provide counseling in terms of academic, social, emotional, and vocational development.
• Conduct group counseling sessions as needed in personal, social, emotional, educational, and career areas.
