Job summary

Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist to join a school-based team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. You will evaluate, intervene, and consult on OT services for K-12 students, collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help students participate and achieve independence.

The role requires an OT degree, MN license, NBCOT, and knowledge of IDEA/IEP processes. Travel opportunities and a supportive assignment structure are provided.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Minnesota OT license through the Minnesota Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
• NBCOT certification.
• Completion of required clinical fieldwork experience.
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and school-based OT service delivery models.
• Ability to collaborate with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Background screening and district onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate students to identify OT needs impacting participation and independence.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Provide direct OT services to students across grade levels.
• Support fine motor, sensory regulation, self-care, and functional skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to support student success.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for accommodations.
• Complete evaluations, progress notes, and required reports.
• Recommend classroom accommodations and adaptive equipment when appropriate.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on student needs.
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
