Qualifications

• One year of college required; two years of college preferred.
• Physical condition to manage behavior and lift 50 pounds.
• Basic understanding of child growth and development.
• Alternatives to qualifications may be acceptable as determined by the Principal.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Current restraint program certification.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial work set up by the teacher.
• Implement student behavior plans.
• Monitor student health concerns and collaborate with teacher and nurse.
• Toileting/personal care/hygiene when necessary.
• Assist with collecting, maintaining, and organizing data and portfolios.
• Assist students with organization of desk, homework, and materials.
• Consult daily with teachers and other service providers when applicable.
• Facilitate student social interaction.
• Other duties as assigned by the teacher or Principal.
