Job summary

Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) is seeking a Nutrition Educator to support K-12 programming with hands-on nutrition education and cooking activities. You will deliver curriculum-based lessons, foster a positive learning environment, and work with diverse urban communities to promote healthy eating.

The role requires an energetic educator who can engage students and caregivers, with a schedule centered around after-school hours and some summer programming.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering hands-on nutrition education and cooking activities in school-based or community settings.
• Proficient in nutrition concepts and cooking skills.
• Excellent classroom management and presentation abilities.
• Comfortable working with diverse urban populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct curriculum-based nutrition education classes/workshops for students Pre-K through 12th grade.
• Facilitate cooking lessons teaching healthy recipes, techniques, tools, and safety.
• Maintain a positive, safe learning environment and engage students and families.
• Support health education and physical activity components at the site.
