Job summary

Talbot County Public Schools is seeking a TCPS Network Administrator for a 12-month role in Easton, Maryland. You will design, build, and maintain the district's networks across eight sites, including high-density WiFi, switching, and firewall configurations, using zero-trust, segmentation, and mainstream cybersecurity standards.

The position requires 5–7 years of networking, 2+ years WiFi design, CCNA/Net+ or equivalent, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer technology, information systems or related field, or equivalent certifications/experience.
• Experience in a school district or educational environment preferred.
• One or more industry certifications (Net+, CCNA and/or JNCIA).
• 5–7 years of networking experience, or a combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of WiFi design and administration experience; WiFi certification preferred (ECSE-D, CWNA, etc.).
• Understanding of secure network design, zero trust, and micro segmentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, validate, and maintain high-density WiFi designs for district sites.
• Perform routing, firewall, and switching design and capacity planning.
• Research network products, services, protocols, and standards to support procurement and development.
• Provide second-level technical support to IT staff and users.
• Analyze issues for root causes and implement fixes.
• Install, configure, and maintain network switches, firewalls, and WiFi APs.
• Maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
