Hebrew Academy Orange County is seeking an IT Support Specialist & Digital Citizenship Educator to maintain our school's technical infrastructure and deliver a comprehensive digital citizenship curriculum for elementary and middle school students.

The role combines hands-on IT support with instructional duties, requiring collaboration with teachers and staff to ensure safe, responsible technology use across the campus. This full-time position emphasizes both technical and pedagogical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or a related field.
• 2+ years of IT support experience, preferably in a K-12 environment.
• Experience teaching or leading groups of children, including STEM/PBL lessons.
• Preferred certifications: Google Certified Educator, CompTIA A+, or Apple Certified Support Professional.

Responsibilities

• IT Technical Support: hardware maintenance for Chromebooks, iPads, and laptops; manage AV equipment.
• Systems Management: administer Google Workspace for Education or Microsoft 365 and PowerSchool, including user accounts and security settings.
• Network & Infrastructure: monitor local network connectivity, printer servers, and coordinate with vendors for infrastructure repairs.
• Help Desk: respond to staff tickets regarding software bugs and login issues.
• Inventory & Procurement: maintain hardware/software inventory and assist in purchasing.
• Security & Filtering: monitor web-filtering tools (GoGuardian, Lightspeed) for student safety and CIPA compliance.
• Digital Citizenship (Instructional): design a grade-level curriculum and lead weekly ES/MS lessons on online safety and privacy.
• Staff Development & Parent Education: run workshops for teachers and host parent info sessions on home tech safety.
