About the Role

As a K-12 Instructional Design Contractor, you will work closely with our Head Instructional Designer to transform lesson plans from subject matter experts into engaging, interactive, and accessible digital lessons within the Buzz Learning Management System (LMS). This role is essential to supporting our curriculum development, emphasizing Christian worldview integration, Classical Education principles, and self-paced, asynchronous learning.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in transforming written lesson plans into engaging digital lessons using Buzz LMS and Articulate.
  • Support the integration of completed lesson designs into the Buzz LMS for seamless student access.
  • Ensure alignment with Classical Education principles, reinforcing dialectical thinking, critical analysis, and deep learning.
  • Apply Agile design methodologies, rapidly iterating based on feedback and learner needs.
  • Incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies and WCAG principles to ensure accessibility for diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with the Head Instructional Designer and subject matter experts to refine lessons.
  • Participate in periodic check-ins with the Curriculum Director to align on project goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred but not required).
  • Experience in K-12 digital curriculum design, particularly for asynchronous, self-paced learning.
  • Knowledge of Classical Education methodology and Christian worldview integration.
  • Proficiency in LMS, e-learning tools, and graphics creation (Articulate, Canva, Adobe, Google Workspace, etc.).
  • Competence in working directly with HTML, CSS, LaTeX, and Javascript languages.
  • Familiarity with Agile design and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
  • Ability to collaborate remotely, work iteratively, and adapt to learner needs.
  • Passion for faith-based education and innovative digital learning.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
