Job summary

RUSSELL COUNTY SCHOOLS in Alabama seeks an Instructional Coach to support teachers in implementing targeted teaching practices that accelerate student achievement. You will lead instructional coaching, model effective strategies, and collaborate with principals to strengthen RtI processes across K-12.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Valid Alabama State teaching certificate in one of the specified areas.
• Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience.
• Must meet background clearance requirements as required by Alabama statutes.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with faculty to implement, strengthen, and support student-centered instruction and intervention in grades K-12.
• Demonstrates high-level coaching and instructional skill within the RtI framework.
• Connects informal assessments to identify students needing intervention and to monitor mastery.
• Uses assessment data to monitor learning and guide instruction.
• Implements age-appropriate, strategic instruction across tiers, including technology use.
• Monitors, analyzes, and uses data daily to inform decisions for improved teaching and learning.
• Plans and facilitates professional learning to enhance instruction and student learning.
• Responds to student errors appropriately and differentiates coaching support.
• Utilizes various coaching strategies and models to support teachers.
• Leads professional development and school-wide instructional coaching.
• Maintains professional standards, adheres to policies, and supports district goals.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or higher

Alabama State teaching certificate (early childhood, elementary, or middle/secondary)

Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience

Background clearance requirements per Alabama statutes
