Job summary

Butler County Schools invites applications for an Instructional Coach to collaborate with classroom teachers. The role focuses on professional learning tailored to individual teachers, with content expertise to support student learning and refine instructional practice.

The coach will deliver 1:1 and group support, analyze student data, and model standards-based instruction while embedding technology and innovative approaches in the classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field is required
• Valid Alabama teaching certificate is required
• At least five years of successful teaching experience
• Experience in development, preparation and presentation of professional development preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as a content specialist to assist in development and implementation of campus instructional plans
• Design and provide professional development focused on alignment of curriculum
• Analyze student data to diagnose instructional needs and identify research-based strategies
• Provide job-embedded professional development for teachers through modeling
• Collaborate to review and develop aligned curriculum components including assessments
• Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring
• Conduct teacher observations and provide feedback for growth
• Distribute instructional resources and train on their use
• Encourage and support technology and innovative strategies in the classroom
• Attend district level training and provide campus level professional development
• Assist with campus CIP and district initiatives
• Assist in data collection, analysis and response
• Attend meetings/trainings as assigned
• Serve on campus leadership team
• Demonstrate knowledge of research-based instructional strategies with all students
• Assist teachers with designing instructional decisions based on data
• Monitor intervention programs and model lessons
• Assist in district curriculum development and assessments
• Attend workshops/conferences on new strategies
