Job summary

Moore County Schools is seeking a K-12 Instructional Specialist for ELA to support curriculum and instruction across the district. The role reports to the Director for Curriculum and Instruction and focuses on improving reading achievement through data-driven strategies and professional development.

The position requires North Carolina teaching licensure, at least 5 years of classroom experience, and a master’s degree in an Education-related field preferred.

Qualifications

  • North Carolina Teacher Licensure is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Master’s degree in Education-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Disaggregate and interpret testing data and provide teachers with strategies to improve reading achievement.
  • Determine best practices related to ELA and select research-based instructional materials.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of professional development for teachers and students.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support teachers and students.
  • Participate in K-12 ELA curriculum development and stay current with trends in curriculum, instruction and assessment.
  • Align curriculum, instruction and assessments and create resources to enhance implementation.
  • Create and disseminate interim assessments aligned with standards and pacing guides.
  • Model ELA lessons for teachers and support teacher development.
