Job summary

Pittock Mansion Society seeks a proactive coordinator to develop and offer engaging K-12 programs and afterschool activities. You will build connections with Portland educators and provide curriculum-aligned learning experiences using Pittock Mansion’s collections and stories.

The role reports to the Director of Marketing, Communications and Audience Development and partners with Sales, Services and Programs, and Guest Experience teams. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in history, art, education, youth development or related field.
  • 3–5 years in youth programming, teaching, or community engagement.
  • Knowledge of museum education concepts, ethics, and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate K-12 programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Revise and update current Discovery program offerings.
  • Deliver curriculum-aligned lesson plans with activities for ages 5–16.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for field trips.
  • Coordinate logistics of field trips with Guest Experience Team.
