Job summary

ContextGlobal, Inc. is hiring multiple full-time Educational ASL Interpreters to support Deaf and hard-of-hearing students and staff across DC Public Schools. You'll be embedded in a partner school for the full school year, working with teachers, students, staff, and visiting professionals who rely on ASL as their primary mode of communication.

This is a school-calendar role. You work the academic year and have summers and school breaks off, with the option to pick up supplemental assignments if

Qualifications

• Proficient ASL skills with strong vocal interpretation.
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and RID ethics required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for diverse students, families, and staff.
• Experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL interpretation for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students and staff across academic and social settings.
• Voice for students and staff; interpret for teachers, colleagues, and visiting professionals.
• Collaborate with the school's special education and IEP teams.
• Build trusting, age-appropriate relationships with students and families.
