Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking an EXL Program Instructor to deliver high-quality expanded learning experiences for K-12 youth, grounded in BACR values of Compassion, Curiosity, Humility, Integrity, and Joy. This role emphasizes safe, inclusive classrooms and strong partnerships with families, schools, and colleagues.

You will foster belonging, support SEL, and use trauma-informed, culturally responsive approaches to meet diverse student needs throughout the academic year.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher or 48 college units.
• Criminal background check and TB clearance.
• Ability to work after-school hours through the academic year.
• Experience with K-12 youth in educational, enrichment, or community settings.
• Ability to build positive relationships with youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Mandated Reporter certification and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships and belonging with disengaged or struggling students.
• Support students' social-emotional learning through relationship-building and restorative practices.
• Address conflicts using culturally responsive approaches.
• Notify coordinator of safety or behavioral concerns.
• Collaborate with families and caregivers as partners in student success.
• Attend professional development and apply feedback to practice.
• Use data to refine lessons and improve outcomes.
