Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources, Inc. seeks an EXL Program Instructor (Part-Time) to lead after-school activities for K–12 students. You will facilitate academic and enrichment activities, supervise groups up to 22, and support students with homework and SEL concepts.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree or 48 college units or pass the Instructional Aide exam, and can work through mid-June with potential summer hours. A criminal background check and TB clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree or higher, or 48 college units, or pass the Instructional Aide exam.
• Must pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance.
• Available to work after-school hours and through mid-June; some positions include summer/intersession.
• Experience with kids and ability to independently lead and supervise up to 22 students.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Must communicate effectively in English with students and families; basic reading proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging academic, enrichment, recreation, and social-emotional learning activities for K–12 students.
• Build positive relationships that foster student belonging, confidence, and engagement.
• Support student behavior using restorative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices.
• Provide homework assistance and adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds.
• Supervise and actively engage groups of up to 22 youth during activities.
• Collaborate with program staff, school personnel, and families to support student success.
• Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and program documentation.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, coaching, and trainings.
• Represent BACR professionally in communication, appearance, and conduct.
