Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking an EXL Program Instructor to deliver high-quality after-school experiences for K–12 youth in the San Francisco Bay Area.

You will build meaningful relationships, support SEL, and use trauma-informed, culturally responsive methods while collaborating with families and school staff to meet diverse needs. BACR emphasizes equity and joyful learning through its values.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher, or 48 college units, or passage of the Instructional Aide exam.
• Criminal background check and TB clearance.
• Ability to work after-school hours through the academic year (mid‑June).
• Experience with K-12 youth in educational, enrichment, or community-based settings.
• Ability to supervise and engage up to 22 youth.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships and a sense of belonging for disengaged or struggling students.
• Support students’ social-emotional learning (SEL) through relationship-building and restorative practices.
• Address conflict and behavioral concerns using culturally responsive approaches.
• Notify coordinator of safety incidents or mandated reporting when needed.
• Collaborate with families and caregivers while maintaining confidentiality.
