Harlem Children’s Zone seeks a mission-aligned Program Director (K-12) to lead its Elementary After-School Program. This leader will manage daily operations for 350+ scholars, ensure high-quality academics and enrichment, and coach a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidate brings 5+ years in education or community programs, strong safety knowledge in NYS, and excellence in stakeholder engagement. Competitive benefits and a salary range of $85,000–$95,000 are offered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Elementary After-School program serving 350+ scholars.
• Ensure scholars receive high-quality academic and enrichment programming.
• Lead, supervise, and develop multidisciplinary team supporting scholars’ growth.
• Provide coaching to middle managers and youth-facing staff to strengthen practice.
• Develop and continuously improve systems for engagement, staffing, scheduling, attendance and budgeting.
• Design and implement professional development aligned to goals and needs.
• Monitor program performance and operational systems for progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with other departments and program leaders for alignment.
• Use data, observations and feedback to improve scholar experience and program quality.
• Clarify work policies and ensure alignment with HCZ policies.
• Foster strong relationships with scholars, families, staff and HCZ leadership.
