Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Director to support the After-School Programs in New York. This role partners with the Director to oversee daily operations, staff management, and program excellence, ensuring safe, enriching experiences for hundreds of students.

The ideal candidate has leadership track record in program design, implementation, and staff coaching, with a strong commitment to HCZ’s mission to break the cycle of poverty.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in education, social services, or community-related programs.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of the after-school program.
• Partner with the Director to ensure high-quality academic and enrichment programming.
• Supervise and develop a multidisciplinary team for students’ growth.
• Provide coaching and feedback to middle managers and youth-facing staff.
• Develop, implement, and improve programmatic and administrative systems.
• Design and deliver professional development for staff.
• Monitor program performance and operations toward goals.
• Collaborate with other sites to align curriculum and policies.
